Today it was stated in the Birmingham Post that the anti-HS2 campaign efforts were threatening to derail the whole HS2 project. He stated that submissions to the consultation have been predominantly against, and that unless this changed the project was at risk of being scrapped. An independent report commissioned by the government’s Transport Select Committee today questioned the economic arguments underpinning the principle of HS2.
